If you were holding your breath for a radical redesign from Motorola this year, you might want to exhale now. Fresh leaks of the upcoming Motorola Edge 70 Fusion have just surfaced online, and if you follow the smartphone world closely, you are going to get a major sense of déjà vu. The new high-definition renders suggest that Motorola is taking the “if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it” approach for 2026, sticking strictly to the design language that put them back on the map in the mid-range category. While some tech enthusiasts might call it playing it safe, others might argue that Motorola has finally found a visual identity worth keeping.

The leaked images showcase a device that is virtually indistinguishable from its predecessors. We are looking at that signature “Endless Edge” design where the camera housing seamlessly rises from the back panel, creating a smooth, bump-free curve that feels incredible in the hand. It appears Motorola is keeping the dual-camera setup on the back, likely headlined by a high-megapixel main sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and an ultrawide lens. The front of the phone is dominated by a curved pOLED display with a centered punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. If you loved the ergonomic feel of the Edge 50 or 60 Fusion, this phone is going to feel exactly like home.

Under the hood, however, is where we expect the real changes to happen. While the outside looks familiar, the Edge 70 Fusion is expected to pack a punch with updated internals to compete in 2026. The rumor mill points toward a newer Snapdragon 7-series chipset, which should offer better battery efficiency and slightly faster gaming performance than last year’s model. We can also expect the usual Motorola staples that fans love, such as blazing-fast TurboPower charging—likely around 68W or higher—and a generous battery capacity to keep that beautiful high-refresh-rate screen running all day. The device will almost certainly launch with the latest version of Android, skinned with Motorola’s clean and user-friendly interface.

So, is a lack of design change a bad thing? Not necessarily. Samsung has been doing it for years with its Galaxy S series, refining the same look to perfection, and it seems Motorola is adopting a similar strategy. By reusing a chassis design, they can keep manufacturing costs down and hopefully pass those savings on to us. If the Edge 70 Fusion can deliver top-tier performance, a great screen, and solid battery life at a competitive price, nobody will complain that it looks like last year’s model. We will have to wait for the official launch to see the final colors—expect some trendy Pantone options—but for now, it looks like the King of the Mid-Range is back to defend its title.
