Microsoft Officially Launches Xbox Cloud Gaming in India – A New Era for Cloud Gaming

Microsoft has officially launched its Xbox Cloud Gaming service in India, marking a significant milestone for the expansion of cloud gaming across South Asia. With this rollout, gamers in the region can now enjoy hundreds of Xbox titles without owning a console—requiring only a stable internet connection.

The service is available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, allowing users to access the full game library from smartphones, tablets, PCs, and smart TVs. Players can stream games directly via the web browser, the Xbox app, or compatible smart TVs, such as Samsung models that support native cloud features.

According to Microsoft, Xbox Cloud Gaming leverages its Azure cloud infrastructure to deliver smooth, low-latency gameplay, supporting up to 1080p at 60fps, depending on network quality.

This move is seen as strategically significant, as India is one of the world’s fastest-growing gaming markets. With millions of new players entering the mobile and cloud gaming scene, Microsoft aims to strengthen its position against rivals such as NVIDIA GeForce Now and Amazon Luna.

The company also highlights that the service provides an affordable way for gamers to experience premium-quality titles without the need for expensive hardware. Popular games like Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5, and Starfield can now be played seamlessly on smartphones or laptops using a Bluetooth controller.

The official rollout of Xbox Cloud Gaming in India is expected to boost global interest in game streaming services, while Microsoft is reportedly planning further expansions into other Asian markets throughout 2026.
